Looking for a comfortable hotel in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, after a round of golf or a trip from Tokyo?
Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu is a business hotel located near the north exit of JR Numazu Station, in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
Numazu is southwest of Tokyo and is accessible from the Greater Tokyo area by train or via the Tomei Expressway by car. It can be a convenient overnight stop when visiting golf courses in eastern Shizuoka.
After playing at Numazu Kokusai Country Club on a Sunday in early November 2026, we decided to stay overnight rather than drive straight home.
We weren’t expecting anything particularly special from a business hotel. But the clean room, comfortable facilities, friendly staff and thoughtful breakfast made this a memorable stay.
Here’s our firsthand review.

Location: Near the North Exit of Numazu Station
Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu is located on the north side of JR Numazu Station.
The location is convenient for dining around the station and traveling the next morning.
Whether you’re visiting Numazu for business, sightseeing or golf, the station area makes a practical base.
Clean and Comfortable Rooms
The first thing we noticed when entering the room was how clean and well-maintained everything felt.
The room wasn’t especially spacious, but it had everything we needed for a comfortable overnight stay.
The bed featured a Simmons mattress, and two types of pillows were provided.
After a full day on the golf course, having a comfortable bed was definitely appreciated.
A Separate Bathroom and Toilet
One feature we particularly appreciated was the separate bathroom and toilet.
Many business hotels in Japan have a compact “unit bath,” where the bathtub, shower and toilet share one space.
In our room, however, the bathroom was separate from the toilet.
This made it much easier to enjoy a relaxing bath after golf.
The washbasin area was also spotless, adding to the overall impression of cleanliness.
Friendly Staff and Thoughtful Hospitality
What impressed us most during our stay was the hospitality of the front desk staff.
When we asked for recommendations for dinner in Numazu, the staff were extremely helpful.
They took the time to suggest local restaurants and explain our dining options.
When you’re visiting an unfamiliar city, this kind of personal attention makes a real difference.
It reminded us that a good hotel experience isn’t just about the room or facilities. The people matter just as much.
Breakfast: A Small Buffet with Local Character
The following morning, we headed to the breakfast area.
The buffet wasn’t particularly large, but it offered a thoughtful selection of Japanese breakfast dishes.
One item that caught our attention was the small serving of chirashi sushi.
Chirashi sushi is a Japanese dish made with seasoned sushi rice and assorted toppings.
The small portions made it easy to try a variety of dishes.
Freshly Grilled Aji: The Breakfast Highlight
The highlight of breakfast was aji no himono, Japanese dried horse mackerel.
Dried fish is a traditional Japanese breakfast dish, and Numazu is particularly well known for its dried seafood.
What made this breakfast special was that the fish was grilled after we placed our order.
It took approximately eight minutes to prepare.
The result was a delicious, freshly grilled fish served piping hot.
It was well worth the short wait and a lovely way to enjoy a local specialty.
Our Room Rate: ¥10,000(USD65)
Our accommodation cost was ¥10,000(USD65) for this stay.
Considering the clean room, comfortable bed, separate bathroom and excellent hospitality, we felt it offered very good value.
Room rates can vary depending on the season, travel dates and booking conditions. Check current prices before making a reservation.
An Award-Winning Hotel
We also noticed an award displayed inside the hotel.
It recognized the property as a hotel where guests had enjoyed their stay, with the Japanese wording “Tomatte Yokatta Yado” (泊まってよかった宿).
After experiencing the hotel ourselves, we could understand why it had received positive recognition.
It isn’t a luxury hotel, but the combination of cleanliness, practical facilities, friendly service and a memorable breakfast made a strong impression.
A Great Overnight Stop After Golf in Shizuoka
This trip reminded us how enjoyable a golf getaway can be when you add an overnight stay.
Instead of rushing home after our round, we had time to relax in Numazu and enjoy a leisurely Japanese breakfast the following morning.
Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Numazu may not be a luxury property, but it delivered exactly what we wanted: comfort, cleanliness and genuine hospitality.
We’d certainly consider staying here again on another golf trip to the Numazu area.
